European Rotors 2024 and Asog Mission Management Training

Oct 15, 2024

In a close collaboration, the Association Sensor Operators Group (ASOG) and FlySight are set to launch an intensive “Basic Airborne Mission Management Systems & Sensors Course” at the upcoming European Rotors VTOL Show & Safety Conference. This training program will run parallel to the main event from November 5-6, 2024, at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre.

The two-day course aims to equip participants with essential skills in operating mission management systems and sensors for multi-mission airborne operations. Attendees will benefit from a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, with access to various mission simulators provided on-site.

🚁Course Highlights:

📌Dates: November 5-6, 2024

📍Location: RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre, Amsterdam, Netherlands

🔎Focus: Comprehensive training on airborne mission management systems and sensors

📘Format: Combination of theoretical lectures and practical exercises

💡The curriculum covers a wide range of crucial topics, including:

  • -Fundamentals of Flight Operations
  • -Airborne Mission Management Systems (MMS)
  • -Sensor Fundamentals
  • -Mission Planning and Execution
  • -Data Management and Interpretation
  • -Safety and Operational Guidelines

This course is tailored for a diverse audience, including pilots, TFOs, airborne sensor operators, government officials, program managers, engineers, and students involved in specialized aerial missions.

Day one will focus on theoretical foundations, covering the role of non-rated aircrew, basic theories of mission management systems, EO/IR systems, and mobile phone detection. The day concludes with a networking event, fostering connections within the industry.

Day two shifts gears to practical application, featuring different Simulator Laboratories. Participants will rotate through four stations, each showcasing different aspects of mission management technology:

  • -Mission Management System, OPENSIGHT (FlySight)
  • -EO/IR Systems (Safran)
  • -Cell Phone Locator System, Artemis (Smith Myers)
  • -Cell Phone Locator System, Lifeseeker (Centum)

This hands-on approach allows attendees to interact with state-of-the-art equipment, bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.

The course is sponsored by FlySight, with additional support from partners Airborne Technology, Safran, Centum, and Smith Myers, underscoring the industry-wide recognition of its importance.

🥇At the conclusion of the two-day training program, FlySight will award participants the “Basic Elements Training of OPENSIGHT Mission Console System for Airborne Sensor Operators CERTIFICATION“. This certification recognizes the comprehensive skills and knowledge gained during the course, validating the attendees’ proficiency in operating the OPENSIGHT Mission Console System.
